The Ivy League is the last conference to begin play today. Dartmouth earned 11 of 16 first-place votes in the Ivy League's media pre-season poll, and will be the slight favorites over 2017 co-champion Columbia. So circle Oct. 19, when Dartmouth travels to Columbia for an ESPNU-televised contest.

Dartmouth dives right into by far the toughest schedule among the Ancient Eight. The Big Green play in Indiana's tournament this weekend, facing the Hoosiers and Notre Dame. Next week, they travel to resurgent UConn and later have games at UMass and Vermont. Dartmouth should be well tested before Ivy League play begins Sept. 29.

Columbia doesn't play as tough a schedule in terms of strength, but the Lions are on the road an awful lot. Eight of Columbia's first nine games are road games, with trips to Kentucky, Butler and Fordham looking most formidable.
